UPDATE: Up to 10 cars involved in incident on the A38 following hailstorm
UPDATE: The scene of the collision on the A38 Southbound at Pearces Hill, Splatford is now clear and all lanes open.
On arrival at the scene fire crews confirmed a total of nine vehicles, one light van and eight cars, of which three were off road and six on the carriageway. Eleven people were involved at the scene, no one was trapped and one had suffered slight injuries.

UPDATE: One lane is now closed and there is queueing traffic and hazardous driving conditions on the A38 southbound in Kennford before the A379 junction, because of a multi-vehicle accident, ice, recovery work and visibility is reduced. Congestion on M5 to J31, A30 (Exminster).

UP to 10 vehicles have been involved in an accident on the A38 following a hailstorm.
A police spokesman said: "There are reports of a multi-vehicle accident possibly due to a hailstorm, ice and reduced visibility on the A38 Southbound before the A379.
"Up to 10 vehicles are thought to be involved."
Lanes one and three have been closed and there is disruption and traffic is building.
