Speaking about the tie being picked for the television cameras, City manager Paul Tisdale, said: "I'm very pleased we have been selected, it is a little Christmas present for us.

"They (Sky) obviously thought it was an important and interesting game to have on and we hope to put on a good show.

"There is certainly a lot of football to be played between now and then, half a dozen games or so, so it is a long way off. But it should be a good advert for League Two football and Exeter City."

The St James's Park fixture was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 26.

Tickets for January's Monday-night game will be available to buy on the day of the match to home fans.

The Grecians have not hosted the Sky Sports cameras for a live fixture since the 3-1 Carling Cup defeat against Liverpool in August 2011.
