A30 re-opens following eight-vehicle collision

A section of the A30 has re-opened following a collision involving eight vehicles.

The incident occurred on the A30 between Daisy Mount Cross near West Hill and Fenny Bridges, Honiton, at around 2pm.

Police, ambulance and four fire crews attended the incident.

Firefighters released three casualties from their separate vehicles using hydraulic cutting equipment.

They were conveyed to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by ambulance.

At this stage no life-threatening injuries have been reported.

Initial reports suggested the crash involved five vehicles, however it has now been confirmed that eight vehicles were involved in the collision which covered both carriageways.

The Highways Agency attended to clear debris from the road.
