ANDY Miller wants Exeter Chiefs to be ruthless when they take on rock-bottom Birmingham & Solihull in the Championship tomorrow.

The Scotland A international knows the supporters will expect them to score a hatful of points against the Bees — and says the players should do exactly that.

The flanker returns to the starting line-up at openside, with James Scaysbrook switching to blindside as Chad Slade is rested.

And, while Miller warns the Chiefs will have to be cautious against an expansive side, he wants the Bees to be put away.

"We've talked about building momentum for the play-offs and now we're only one game away we really need to crank it up," he said.

"Any lapses in concentration will get punished by this side, they've scored some cracking tries against some good sides so we need to make sure we're as ruthless and effective in everything we do as we can be.

"Now we're getting to the stage of the season when pressure is a big part of it and if people expect us to score a lot of points we've got to live up to that.

"We have to accept they're at the bottom of the league so why not? It's good practice for us to ask questions of ourselves and demand the most of each other."

Despite Birmingham's lowly league position, Miller thinks Exeter can use tomorrow's game as preparation for the play-offs.

The Bees play an exciting brand of rugby and the 27-year-old knows Exeter have to concentrate in defence.

He said: "They're probably a different proposition to any other side in the league in that they're willing to play from deep.

"That gives us different challenges and is good preparation for us because it's not something we'll come across that often.

"When we play the likes of Bristol they have good broken-field runners as well so it's good practice to defend against a team that will try things from anywhere."
