Anniversary of Exeter's Speedway first meeting
Saturday, March 9 marks the 84th anniversary of Exeter speedway’s first meeting in 1929 and to observe the occasion Matt Bates, who launched the Retro Falcons team two years ago, will be out in the city centre along with some of his team mates and their bikes to highlight the fact that his junior team will be racing regularly at Plymouth’s St Bonface Arena this season.
The involvement of Manordelta Ltd, the late Exeter promoter Colin Hill's company, has ensured that local junior riders will get much more opportunity to race and practice at Plymouth on a regular basis.

The season opens at Plymouth on Saturday, March 16, with the semi final of the British U21 championship for which the line-up includes Connor Coles, son of Falcons all time top scorer Michael, and grandson of Bob.
On Friday, March 22 sees the new look Plymouth Devils, who now include ex-Falcon Mark Lemon take on an Exeter Select side headed by two more former County Ground favourites Ben Barker and Leigh Lanham. Prior to this meeting Plymouth’s new grandstand will be named in memory of Colin Hill.
