Antis must accept people like hunting
REGARDING the letter Hunting Act views don't make sense, Points of view, March 12, recent correspondents have stated that they are happy to let hunts follow scents in the form of a drag-hunt, to avoid killing.
I think they are being disingenuous, as most antis are continuing to monitor and pressurise hunts, even when acting within the new law.
Unfortunately, this pressure seems to have led recently to an anti-hunter being charged with murder.
Feelings are high on both sides, and both sides feel they are fully in the right. It is time now for some calmness and tolerance.
Antis need to accept that a lot of people enjoy hunting. Vegetarians and vegans hate the very idea of eating meat and often cite cruelty as their motive, but even they accept that they can never stop people eating meat.
Anti-hunters have to take that view. You can only be responsible for your own behaviour and not that of others, no matter how obnoxious they may seem.

“Nigel ¿ Over 700 hours of parliamentary time was wasted on an issue that has made absolutely no difference to the welfare of foxes. I million pounds was spent on a government inquiry that most Labour Back bench bigots did not bother to read. The much vaunted alternative to hunting the use of rifle has left a man dead and another wounded. Hunt monitors the self professed police of hunting have caused actions leading to the death of another man.
Hannah is right people need to reassess their morals.”

On that basis anyone can do anything they like - so exactly where do you draw the line David?
Thankfully we live in a relatively civilised democracy where laws are brought in to define what is and what is not acceptable and such anarchy cannot thrive.
Hannah - hunting is only an integral part of the rural live of a minority and if you kill for sport then in my book that makes you a murderer.
By the way there is nothing wrong with my morale - morals maybe :-)”

“I could not agree more. Hunting is an integral part of rural life. I hunt but I appreciate others decision not too, I eat meat but I do not force that upon vegetarians, surely this is exactly the same? I am fed up of being branded a 'murderer' when there are so many other just causes that require societies attention, child abuse, poverty the recession. People need to reasses their morales.
