Axminster gas boiler fire destroys car and garage
One fire appliance from Axminster and two from Chard attended a fire in a garage of a property at 05:41am. Crews arrived on scene and got straight to work with two breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets.
Crews increased to four breathing apparatus wearers and three hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and set up a cordon due to the instability of the garage.

As well as breathing apparatus and jets, crews used small tools and a thermal imaging camera at the incident.
The garage was severely damaged by the fire. A car was also severely damaged. The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
