LOCAL bands will be playing at Exeter Football Club tonight in a special benefit concert to raise funds for Haiti.

It will take place at the Centre Spot Bar. Entry is free, but the audience will be asked for a donation on the door.

All cash raised will go to ShelterBox, the Cornish disaster relief charity which is providing emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by the earthquake.

Rich Elgar, lead singer of local band Reckless came up with the idea for the concert. Within a week he had booked the venue and the performers. The line-up is The Cadence, Reckless and Man that Made the Maker. Stephen James, will also be performing.

"We hope people will come along tonight to support these local musicians who are trying to help Haiti in the best way they know — by giving a fantastic evening of music," said Rich.

Man that Made the Maker is a band of current and ex-students from local music academies. Playing pop rock, members are Ed Goodwin on vocals and guitar, George Goodwin, vocals and guitar, Jake Otton on bass, Alex Millington-Jung on keyboards and Jamie Rowland on drums.

"We are honoured to be given the chance to play for a good cause," said Ed.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Details: 07776 203277.
