EXETER City made it two wins out of two for their pre-season campaign with a dominant 4-0 win over Bath City last night.

Richard Logan got the Grecians' first with a thumping header early on before substitutes James Dunne and Ben Watson (two) wrapped up victory with second half goals in what was a decent work-out for Tisdale's troops.

The visitors opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes and with the first chance of the game. Logan did superbly to get up and win a header, which he directed into the path of Steve Tully. The wing-back delivered an inch-perfect cross on to the head of Logan, who had continued his run into the penalty box and planted a firm header into the bottom corner from 10 yards.

Bath shot straight back and good play down their right led to them winning a corner kick. However, former Exeter striker Lee Phillips was unable to control his header, which drifted over the crossbar.

Gethin Jones surged from the back with Bath's next attack, but his audacious chip was straight down the throat of Paul Jones in the Exeter goal. The Grecians responded with a curling shot from Jamie Cureton that drifted just the wrong side of the upright.

The former Bristol Rovers man partnered Logan in attack and was looking to impress Tisdale in his quest to find employment for next season. He linked up well with Logan, who was winning plenty in the air during his 60-minute stint on the field.

As it was against Clevedon, Exeter's passing was crisp and assured. The midfield trio of Liam Sercombe, David Noble and Ryan Harley were controlling the game and it was Harley next to try his luck, but his shot was straight at Ryan Robinson.

The move of the half though came seven minutes before half-time. The link-up play between Scott Golbourne and Harley was of the highest quality, but when it came to finishing, Golbourne's shot was well saved by Robinson in the home goal.

Bath hit back with a shot from former Torquay man Kaid Mohamed that Jones saved well low down to his left and Mohamed came close again when he drifted through a static Exeter defence before drilling a shot that took a slight deflection before whistling past the far post.

It was the same XI that started the second half for Exeter — the Romans used the interval to make a number of changes — and it was the hosts that came close to scoring early in the second period.

Mohamed's shot deflected just wide for a corner and from the resultant flag-kick, Scott Murray headed against the crossbar.

Exeter responded with Cureton's exquisite touch allowing Harley to break into the box. He twisted and turned his marker, but his shot was pushed on to the upright by Tony Burton and went behind.

Cureton was desperate for a goal and again came close when he headed a Harley free-kick narrowly wide. It was to be his last act as he and Logan were replaced by Watson and James Norwood.

Norwood missed a great chance to double Exeter's lead when he shot high from close range after good work by Watson, Golbourne and Jake Thomson as City maintained a high tempo.

The Grecians finally got the second goal when a cross from the right was flicked on by Scot Bennett and Dunne ghosted in unmarked at the back post to poke the ball past Burton from six yards.

However, Watson bagged the goal of the game on 81 minutes. With his back to goal, he chested the ball down, turned and curled an absolute pearler into the top corner of Burton's goal from 25 yards.

And after Duffy had nearly netted a sensational fourth following a good run that started in his own penalty box, Watson duly did so with a soft goal from close range that Burton should have dealt with three minutes from time.

Bath City (4-4-2): Robinson (Burton h-t); Simpson (Rollo 59), Webb, Jones, Ruddick; Hogg, Harris (Badman 59), Jombarti (Murray h-t), Bryant (Mackie h-t); Phillips (Reid h-t), Mohamed (Edwards 63).

Exeter City (3-5-2): P Jones (Krysiak 60); Duffy, Taylor (Bennett 55), B Jones; Tully (Thomson 55), Sercombe (Shephard 66), Noble (Dunne 55), Harley (Cozic 66), Golbourne (Heath 66); Cureton (Norwood 60), Logan (Watson 60).
