THE Girl Guide movement will celebrate its centenary with a host of events.
The next date in Exeter is a Guiding Through the Years Celebration, which will take place next Saturday, March 6, at Exeter Livestock Centre in Matford Park Road.

All the movement's sections, including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders and Guiders (Leaders), which all come under the Girlguiding UK, banner will be taking part.
Within Exeter, each unit forms part of a district. During the celebration, some districts will be arriving at noon when the girls will be taking part in international activities as part of belated events to mark this year's Thinking Day.
Each year, on February 22, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world celebrate World Thinking Day. This year's theme was to raise awareness of extreme poverty and to find ways of working together to end the situation.
Other districts will be arriving in the early afternoon to rehearse for their district show. Each group has been allocated a decade to celebrate.
Invited guests will arrive later in the afternoon.
The day will end with communal singing with the County Singing Circle and a special celebration cake.
Devon has nearly 10,000 Girl Guides.
More centenary celebrations will be taking place across the movement's 17 Devon divisions, including a centenary camp at Woodlands, near Dartmouth, in September.
