The Bishop of Exeter announces his retirement
After 40 years as a clergyman, the Bishop of Exeter, the Right Reverend Michael Langrish, 66, has announced his retirement.
In a letter sent to clergy in parishes across Devon, the Right Reverend spoke of his love for the county and its people. He has served as the Bishop of Exeter since 2000.

In addition to being a member of the House of Bishops and General Synod, he chaired the Church's Rural Strategy Group for nine years, relinquishing the role in September 2009 .
Bishop Michael Langrish has been a member of the House of Lords since 2005, a member of Exeter University's Council as well as the first Chair of the Devon Strategic Partnership.
