Body pulled from Exe may be missing man
A BODY has been recovered from the River Exe after a man went missing with his dog.
The 78-year-old was pulled from the water by the RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter RMB Chivenor near Waldrons, in Tiverton, at 12.15am on Wednesday, January 9.
The alarm was raised at 8.45pm on Tuesday after the Tiverton man failed to return home.
A relative contacted the emergency services after becoming concerned. The Chivenor crew joined Exmoor's Search and Rescue Team and police in recovering the body after more than three hours of searching in the River Exe.

The helicopter hovered over the river while lowering a winchman to the water.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, although the body is understood to be that of the missing man. His next of kin have been informed.
The dog was found safe and well.
Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious but confirmed it is "unexplained".
