Bristol Rovers will be boosted by the return of two players as the club rock-bottom of the entire Football League look to record back-to-back victories.

John Ward has Joe Anyinsah and Fabian Broghammer back in training after injury and could feature as they welcome Exeter looking to build on their impressive 3-0 victory at Fleetwood on Saturday

The former Colchester boss also hopes to add a new face to his squad before they take on the Grecians.

"The players I am talking to are also interesting other clubs and if they can get a contract at a team in the top half of our league, the chances are they will choose to go there instead," Ward told the Bristol Evening Post.

Jim Paterson is set to miss out after doing further damage to the hamstring problem that has sidelined him since Boxing Day.

Exeter's striking options will be boosted by the return of top scorer Jamie Cureton who is set to play his 700th game in English football.

The 37-year-old, who scored 80 times for the Pirates between 1996 and 2000, is available to hit the impressive milestone having served his three-game suspension for a red card against Wycombe on New Year's Day.

Cureton is likely to replace Irishman John O'Flynn in the starting line-up after the striker was ruled out for at least a month with a hamstring picked up in the early stages of the midweek draw.

Midfielder Liam Sercombe remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Guillem Bauza will hope to be involved again having made his first start since September at Torquay on Tuesday.

Matt Oakley and Alan Gow in particular helped the Grecians battle back to earn a point at Plainmoor and the experienced duo could return to the starting line-up.
