BusinessWise meeting offers discussion and networking
ACCOUNTANTS, bankers and business owners attended the inaugural lunchtime meeting of Tozers LLP's BusinessWise club.
The event at the Jurys Inn hotel in Exeter included a talk from partner Jill Headford on the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 and a talk by planning solicitor Rachel Rowles Davis on houses in multiple occupation.

MEETING: Matthew Jackson, who chaired BusinessWise, and Gary Salter, who won the World Cup quiz
The talks were followed by a networking lunch.
Matthew Jackson, commercial partner at Tozers, who chaired the first meeting, said: "The purpose of BusinessWise, the Tozers' business club, is to provide a forum to discuss specific commercial topics of common interest and to share information on any other wider business issues our guests might have."
Meetings will be held quarterly at the Jurys Inn and attendance is free of charge but places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The next meeting will be held on Friday, September 24.
Richard Thorneycroft, head of commercial at Tozers, said: "We hope that the BusinessWise meetings will provide a useful opportunity for our guests to learn more about a particular subject and to network.
"We are delighted with how well attended the first meeting was and the positive feedback we have received. And congratulations go to Gary Salter, of Thompson Jenner, who won the bottle of champagne for achieving the top score in our World Cup quiz."
