The camera team called the emergency services and fire engines from Middlemoor and Danes Castle, along with an ambulance, were drafted in. Ian Treadwell at the Danes Castle fire station, said the call came in at around 9.30pm that a man had fallen 4m (12ft) into a confined basement courtyard in Bedford Street.

Mr Treadwell said: "I think the gentleman can be seen to have been very lucky as he was picked up going into the area by the Princesshay CCTV camera team and they went to investigate and found the man had fallen and alerted us."
