Carrack-ing music in store for Paul's fans
FORMER Ace, Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics frontman Paul Carrack is making his return to the South West.
The legendary Sheffield-born singer/songwriter is back on the road with his Good Feelin' Tour, which stops off at Plymouth Pavilions on Friday, January 18.

It has been inspired by new album Good Feeling, released on his own Carrack UK label, and was produced by Paul himself.
He also plays most of the instruments on it, although his son Jack, now a member of his band, joins him on drums.

With a back catalogue of hits stretching all the way back into the 1970s, including How Long, Tempted and The Living Years, Paul's soulful voice is known to millions around the world.
Then there's also the gems he presented to the Eagles who made anthems of Love Will Keep Us Alive and I Don't Want To Hear Any More. Paul's list of musical achievements also include recording and performing collaborations with an incredibly eclectic list of legends like Roger Waters, Ringo Starr and BB King.
Paul's inspirations come from many quarters, but eventually all roads lead back to the soul music he fell in love with while growing up in Sheffield.
"Stax, Atlantic, Motown...it was all of them," reveals Paul. "Whatever was getting played in the clubs or dancehalls, but Motown I did like, especially the singers. David Ruffin is probably my all-time favourite.
"I would say probably Stevie Wonder as well. I love his early stuff, but Talking Book was a mind-blower for me.
He added: "All a musician wants is an outlet, really. You want to be able to put your stuff out, do your gigs and have a good old sing. That keeps me happy."
