Chance to name bowling complex
THE new owners of Exmouth seafront's high-profile, long-awaited leisure complex have launched a competition for local school children to name the building, which is weeks away from opening.
Isaac Robb, one of the UK's top chefs, and his wife Grainne, have taken on the establishment as directors of the complex from the developer behind the project, Mark Quinn of Harlequins Leisure.
Isaac said the ground floor of the eco-friendly complex, which houses 12 bowling lanes and a café, restaurant and bar, is now just weeks away from completion.
The father of three has more than 16 years' experience in the catering industry. He moved from his home town of Belfast, where he was head chef at The Potted Hen, rated 79th best restaurant in the UK.

When Isaac heard about the complex he decided to seize the opportunity to take on a new venture. With his love of food and his knowledge of the catering industry he hopes to establish a strong connection with the community of Exmouth.
Isaac is passionate about using local food producers and is keen to find local farmers and suppliers to support his belief in seasonal cooking.
He is also dedicated to using local suppliers for the ongoing construction and fitting of the complex.
"People look at this building and think bowling alley, but that's only part of what it is," he said.
"The kitchen is the engine room of any establishment. It is the food that is the resting point, so it is important to get that right."
Isaac said he was thrilled to be able to provide employment for local people. He will be working alongside Exmouth Community College, helping students with the transition from college education to developing career opportunities.
Liquid Motion water sports shop has been occupying one of the four retail units since the spring and there have been several prospects for the adjacent units.
On the first floor there will be a children's play zone, a restaurant and a smaller split-level function room.
Organised functions including weddings will take place on the top floor.
The "pride and joy" of the building includes an indoor and outdoor bar and two large outdoor terraces.
Visits are being arranged for groups of school children to come to see the complex before it opens in the coming weeks.
"We want to involve local people so they feel it's not just a building on the seafront but part of their community," added Grainne.
Looking forward to opening this winter, the couple have launched a competition for local school children under the age of 14 to name the complex.
The winner and ten of their friends will receive a VIP bowling party and banquet experience.
To enter the competition, send your idea, name, age, phone number and contact email address to Exmouth Fun Pool Site, Esplanade, Exmouth, EX8 2AZ, or email competi email@example.com by November 11.
