Chance for employers to see your potential
HUNDREDS of young people from across Devon will be meeting potential employers at an event at Sandy Park next week.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, employers and training providers are coming together to showcase some of the training opportunities available to those preparing to leave full-time education.

From this summer, a change in the law means all young people will be required to continue in education or training until the end of the academic year in which they turn 17.
The day is organised by Devon County Council in conjunction with the National Apprenticeship Service.

Pupils in years 10, 11, 12 and 13 from all of Devon's schools have been invited.
All the Devon colleges will be on hand to answer questions, while a range of training providers and employers will be providing interactive demos and talks throughout the day.
Neil Sproats, post-16 leader at Okehampton Community College, said: "Meeting employers and other apprenticeship experts will be hugely beneficial to both students and college staff to increase their understanding of the programme. This provides a real alternative to students who may not wish to go down routes like university, so we are looking forward to it."
Lisa Swailes-Smith, head of year 11 at Ilfracombe Community College, said: "The event will enable students to investigate the opportunities provided by employers."
Parents are advised to ask their child's school or college if they are attending the event.
Careers South West will hold an event in its Queen Street office in Exeter on Thursday, March 14, from 2pm to 6pm, for anyone unemployed or planning to start an apprenticeship after year 11. Training providers and further education colleges will be offering demonstrations of different vocational areas including childcare, catering, construction, business and administration.
