Charities set to benefit from Corn Exchange fair

THE Christmas Without Cruelty Fair is returning to Exeter.

The event will be held on Sunday, November 28 at the Corn Exchange, between 10am and 4.30pm. Entry is free.

Among the items on sale will be locally grown olive trees; plus gifts made by a local potter; chilli preserves and chocolates; handmade organic soaps and oils; natural, skin-friendly body care products; gluten-free and 100 per cent vegetarian cakes and savouries; and chocolate made in Exeter.

Charities represented include the Monkey Sanctuary, Devon Wildlife Trust and the Marine Conservation Society, as well as Animals Asia and Compassion in World Farming.

There will also be a vegetarian cafe run by Exeter catering company Happy Cow, singing from the Crediton World Music Choir, and the chance for visitors to win a holiday break donated by Michael House, an award-winning vegetarian guesthouse in Cornwall.

Mark Gold, who is organising the fayre for Animal Aid, said: "We're really proud of the way our event has grown over the last three years to become an established highlight of the Devon calendar."
