OVER the weekend of May 1 to 3, Cheriton Fitzpaine CC's finest will be cycling from the home of cricket at Lord's to their home ground in Mid Devon.

The object of the exercise is to raise money for the club and the Primary Club — the cricketers' charity that provides sports facilities for the visually impaired

The 11 riders will leave the Grace Gates at Lord's at 10.30am on Saturday, May 1.

Their route takes them along cycle paths for just over 200 miles along the Thames, the Kennet & Avon Canal and through Wiltshire to Wells, Glastonbury, Taunton and Tiverton.

The riders hope to be back at Hayne Farm on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

Cheriton Fitzpaine play in the North Devon Holiday Homes Cricket League and will play in the Devon Cricket League for the first time in 2010.

The club will use their share of the funds raised to improve the facilities at Hayne Farm.
