Charlie will lead discussion on dementia care
SOLICITOR Charlie Siegle, from Exeter firm Stephens Scown, is leading a discussion on dementia care.
He is appearing as part of a two-day programme hosted by the Care Show at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) on Tuesday, March 30, and Wednesday, March 31.
Dementia and the law will be the focus of the talk at the show, which is now in its sixth year.
With care provision and dementia increasingly in the spotlight, along with rising concerns over the standards of care, Charlie's session will look more closely at some of the most demanding issues facing the sector.
As a specialist in litigation and dispute resolution, he will discuss how dementia and other conditions affecting mental capacity can impact on a person's ability to manage their property and finances.
He said: "This is a great opportunity to address, on a national platform, some of the really important issues and challenges surrounding the quality of life for dementia sufferers, their families and carers. I'll be looking at the legal consequences and the options for safeguarding a person's estate in situations where they're unable to do so themselves."
His presentation will also cover the possible consequences that a lack of capacity may bring for the individual, the carers and their family. For more details about the care show, visit www.careshow.co.uk.
