THE Lord Mayor of Exeter Councillor Rob Newby is attending the World's Biggest Coffee Morning at Harry's Restaurant in Exeter in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Harry's Restaurant will be hosting the event from 7am till 11am on Friday, September 21, and people can go along and have a bacon roll, coffee and a piece of cake.

It is the fifth year it has supported the World's Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, and for the past two years it has won the Exeter Chamber Cup, for raising the most amount of money during the appeal. A spokesman said: "This is our charity event of the year, giving something back to help people locally and we are really pleased to be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in its 22nd year."

Angie Lowe, Fundraising Manager for the charity said: "Last year they raised £873 for Macmillan Cancer Support which equates to 35 hours of nursing to help people affected by cancer. This year we have more than 3,300 companies, individuals, groups and schools in Devon and Cornwall taking part in the event."
