EXETER Chiefs have announced they will add Taunton to their growing list of feeder clubs from next season.

The link-up could see some of Exeter's academy players turning out for Taunton.

This season youngsters Dave Ewers and Jack Andrew have played on a dual registration at Exmouth and Herbie Stupple has been playing for Redruth.

Several players have also got game time with Launceston and head coach Rob Baxter is keen to add Taunton to the network of clubs the Chiefs work with.

They are unbeaten in National Three South West, 15 points clear of their nearest challengers with four games to go.

Hyde Park chief Lee Waddon has spent a few days watching training at Sandy Park recently and is enthusiastic about building a relationship.

Baxter said: "We are looking to develop our academy players and we need somewhere for them to play.

"They need to be playing regularly and you can see how much Jack, Dave and Herbie have improved this season from playing regularly.

"Taunton are going well in their league and are looking at promotion. They are a good club with a good coaching set-up and it will be good to work with them.

"If our players can go there to develop and also help Taunton it would be great for both clubs."

Waddon, himself a former lock like Baxter, said: "Exeter are a fantastic club and have welcomed me with open arms.

"I have seen team meetings, video analysis and coaching sessions. It's mainly with a view to next season, when we aim to bring in some of their more fringe players on long-term loans and dual registrations."

Meanwhile, Baxter has revealed that Bryan Rennie is a doubt for this weekend's final Championship regular season game against Birmingham & Solihull due to the bang he took to his head against Plymouth on Saturday.

However, Alan Miller is fit after an ankle injury, while Baxter is also hopeful Matt Jess and Dave Gannon will be able to play after missing last weekend's game through illness.
