CHLOE Dunn, a student teacher from Shaldon, is taking part in Exeter's Great West Run to raise money for the Helen Foundation.

The Helen Foundation was launched as a living memorial to Helen Kirk, of Shaldon, who died at the age of 24 after a road accident on Boxing Day, 2005.

Helen was a young actress who was passionately committed to the power of the arts to make a real difference to young people's lives.

Following her death, her parents, Annie and Roger Kirk, and her boyfriend, Ben, set up the Helen Foundation as a charitable trust to support the aspirations of young people who live in the Teignbridge area, especially those lacking financial support.

By providing prizes in schools, arts-based workshops and bursaries the foundation is able to encourage and support other young people to develop their talents and pursue their ambitions as Helen was had the good fortune to be able to.

Chloe, 25, said "Helen's family work so incredibly hard to help young people in the area develop their talents and pursue their ambitions.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be raising money for such a great cause."
