PAUL Tisdale is still waiting to hear if former Nottingham Forest defender Joe Heath has accepted an offer to join Exeter City until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who featured for Forest's first team on 12 occasions, is being targeted by Grimsby Town and played a reserve game for the Mariners last week. But Tisdale has not given up hope of landing the left-back on a short-term contract, with a view to offering him a longer-term deal at the end of the season.

"I have not spoken to his agent," said Tisdale. "He went to Grimsby last week for a game and I am not sure what is happening at the moment. We will wait and see with that one.

"There are two or three other clubs that are looking at him now, but that is his business.

"He is a very competent player and we would like to offer him a longer-term contract and that situation still applies."
