City chief kicks off builders' new eco-store
EXETER City's director of football, Steve Perryman, did the honours when Rawle Gammon & Baker (RGB) builders' merchants opened a new 'eco centre' on Marsh Barton.
The outlet, in Alphinbrook Road, specialises in environmentally friendly technology and materials.
The opening follows the success of a similar centre at the company's head office in Barnstaple. Family-owned RGB now has 13 branches across the South West.
Representatives of many of the firm's suppliers were on hand at the opening to advise customers on products ranging from ground source heat pumps to energy efficient boilers.
Branch manager Paul West said: "We are very grateful to Steve Perryman for joining us to conduct the official opening and are proud to be associated with Exeter City FC, who have proven their commitment to the environment and ecology of the planet, along with RGB.
"The open day went well and was a great opportunity for customers to discuss with staff and our supplier experts a full range of renewable energy products."
Working alongside Mr West at the eco centre are Richard Turvill, Mark Hutchinson and Anthony Mogridge.
