City power cuts remain a mystery
THE cause of major power cuts in the city has still not been established as normal service was resumed across Exeter.
As the Echo reported, more than 2,500 Exeter homes were left without electricity following two mystery power cuts in the city on Sunday and Monday.
The incidents saw traffic lights in the city go out, and Devon County Council was left without the use of computers.
The council said it was "back to normal" yesterday.
The problems were caused in two separate incidents at the main substation in Haven Road affecting cabling, and Western Power Distribution is yet to establish the reason why it happened.
