Exeter City target triallist Aaron Morris joins the Shots
FORMER Exeter City triallist Aaron Morris has signed for League Two side Aldershot Town.
The free agent, who was released by Cardiff City at the end of last term, spent the first three weeks of pre-season training with the Grecians.
But Morris, who can play at right-back, centre-half or in midfield, failed to impress City boss Paul Tisdale sufficiently to win a contact at St James's Park.
Last week he went out on trial to League One rivals Brighton before agreeing a deal with the Shots.
Oldham have signed Irish striker Dean Kelly and let winger Joe Colbeck join Hereford United on a free transfer.
Kelly, 24, has signed a six-month deal with the Latics after scoring 30 goals for Crumlin United last season.
Boss Paul Dickov said: "What stood out was Dean's natural ability for someone who plays amateur football and only trains twice a week."
Colbeck, 23, has signed a two-year deal with the Bulls after being allowed to leave Boundary Park.
The former Bradford man only joined Oldham last summer from Bradford but was placed on the transfer list after 28 appearances.
Charlton have completed the signing of striker Pawel Abbott from League One rivals Oldham Athletic.
The two clubs agreed a nominal fee for the 28-year-old forward, which is believed to be about £20,000.
Abbott, Charlton's sixth signing of the summer, arrived at Oldham last year and finished as the club's top scorer for the campaign with 13 goals.
Sheffield Wednesday have made a fresh appeal for "credible" investors with £5m to commit to the club immediately.
The League One club were issued with a winding-up order by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs last week.
A club statement said: "We have been made offers that fall short of the conditions that have been set."
American company Club 9 Sports LLC has been rumoured to be interested but no firm offer has been made and the club dismissed them as "making noise".
