Clive Jones is heartened by Scott Rogers' commitment
Clive Jones has described Scott Rogers' decision to stay on at Willand Rovers until the end of the season as "a massive boost", ahead of today's Toolstation Western League match away to Bitton.
The former Tiverton Town midfielder joined the Silver Street club in late November and helped them pick up three straight wins as they moved away from the Premier Division relegation zone.

No length was initially put on Rogers' stay, but last week he confirmed that he would stay until the end of the season. "It is massive boost for us," Jones declared. "Scott took training for me [last Saturday] as I wasn't feeling too clever. He's a good lad and I couldn't be happier."
However, Jones is starting to get frustrated by the lack of games his side have played. Willand have won their last three matches, but those victories have been spread over a nine-week period.

"It is getting so frustrating, I don't know what to do," said Jones, who saw Tuesday's match at Street postponed. "We last played Odd Down away and that was about four weeks ago. We have played three times since December 1."
When asked if a winter break and playing more games in the summer might be the solution to football's postponement problem, Jones said he would not be a fan of such a proposal. "No, I don't like it, because I like my cricket. I'm not going to suggest that."
Barnstaple Town manager Tom Bulley is working to strengthen his squad ahead of today's Premier Division trip to Cadbury Heath.
The need for extra quality was exposed by a dreadful defensive display in last Saturday's 6-1 defeat to Odd Down. While Bulley is looking to build a team for the long term, he is prepared to use short-term help to fight relegation.
"Lads are tied up with other clubs halfway through the season and it's not easy," Bulley said. "I brought in Stephen Reed, who didn't have a game for Weymouth. He came in to give us a hand and, if he hasn't got a game with Weymouth, hopefully he'll be back in again."
Barnstaple have also signed Dan Hart from Tavistock and Jordan Pearce from Ivybridge Town. Midfielder Hart is back for a second spell at the club, having played under Owen Pickard last season. Defender Pearce, like Hart, is a former Plymouth Argyle apprentice.
Relegation looks inevitable but Bulley insisted his team must be positive they can claw back a nine-point gap. "We are doing the right things off the field, we have got to do the right things on it," he said.
