Clocks are turned back to wartime
THE wartime spirit was evoked at an event to promote volunteering.
The Volunteer Centre at Involve joined other local organisations to transport Tiverton's Pannier Market back to the 1940s. There were vintage military vehicles, flags and a children's street party with corned beef and Spam sandwiches and jelly and blancmange.

VINTAGE YEARS: Sarah Phillips, Michelle Holmes and Chloe Holmes, nine, recreate the spirit of the war
Sue Snell, Volunteer Centre co-ordinator for Tiverton and Cullompton said: "It was a lovely family day and people commented on how it seemed to bring local people together.
"There was a lot of interest from people about the types of volunteering opportunities there are in Mid Devon."
The event was held to mark National Volunteer Week.
