Clyst Valley braced for visit of furious St Martins

CLYST Valley could face a backlash from St Martins on Saturday, after the reigning Premier champions were denied a winner at Feniton.

The match finished 1-1 but St Martins were incensed to be denied a last-minute winner because of a foul on the keeper.

Feniton led through Charlie Selley before Pete Eveleigh equalised. Feniton manager Mark Kingdom suffered a broken leg and ankle and will be in plaster for eight weeks.

Hatherleigh regained top spot after beating Topsham Town 2-0, with first-half goals from Dean Rice and Luke Reynolds.

Heavitree Social United kept their outside hopes alive with a 2-0 win against Thorverton.

Adam Place had both goals, while Morchard Bishop won 3-1 at Clyst Valley. Phil Greenslade, Jonathan Bradford and Steve Morrish scored for Morchard.

Seaton Town won 4-2 at Exmouth Amateurs, their fourth league and cup victory in eight days, and Beer Albion rocked the University 4-0 with Richard Walker (2), John Cooper and James Melville on target.

Willand Rovers came from a goal down to win their relegation clash with Budleigh Salterton 2-1. Callum Shipton struck first but Ryan Gibbs and Lee Hawton rescued Rovers.

For the first time in more than 30 years, Honiton Town are in the semi-finals of the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup, after winning 7-4 against Colaton Raleigh after extra time.

Darren Witt (2), Dan Broom (2), Sam Farmer, Tim Genders and Matt Brown scored Honiton's goals, who were drawing 4-4 before extra time.

First Division leaders Chard Town were too strong for Colyton, winning 4-0 and remaining three points clear of Sidbury who won 1-0 at the University thanks to Danny Green.

Bow AAC won 5-0 at Culm United with Will Hawking (2), Nick Cole, Gavin Coles and Alex Bowden scoring, and Heavitree won 2-1 at East Budleigh. Sam Haggar and Shaun King scored for Heavitree.

Second Division leaders Elmore recovered from last week's defeat to batter rivals Westexe Rovers 7-0. Dan Horler (3), Rhys Parsons (2), Kevin Mills and Adam Westbrook scored.

Ben Smith (3) and John Emery scored in Dawlish United's 4-2 win at Sidmouth.

Beacon Knights stay third after their 3-2 win at Topsham.

Steve Grant, Tim Leveridge and Chris Pillnger scored, while Johnny Knight's goal earned Halwill a 1-0 win at Chagford.

Crediton are top in Division Three after sending Offwell Rangers packing 5-0, while Dolphin won 6-0 at Ottery St Mary.

Danny Hall and Elliot Weeks hit doubles, while Ryan Harris and Jimmy Lee-Shaw had singles for Dolphin.

Newtown won 4-2 at Newton St Cyres with Will Hart getting a hat-trick. Mike Blinkhorne also scored.

Brazilian Andrade Perreira de Vasconcelos was the Hemyock scorer in their 1-0 victory against Tedburn St Mary.

South Zeal were unlucky to lose 3-2 at the University, with Harley Cann and Jamie Athherton scoring for Zeal.

55-year-old Newtown chairman Patrick McDonagh scored twice in their 6-1 Division Four win over Seaton. Chris Phillips (2), Alex Smith and Dan Hunt also netted.

Leaders Heavitree were held 1-1 by the Lords XI, whose Tim Holding wiped off the Heavies' goal from James Mills.

Paul Rowsell and Alex Hughes both scored in the last 10 minutes to get Woodbury a 2-2 draw against Okehampton.

Struggling Lapford drew 2-2 with Hatherleigh in Division Five. Jack Weekes and Ollie McClemman scored for the Laps.

Countess Wear routed Beer Albion 6-1 with Tariq El-Zahri getting a hat-trick. Aaron Libretto, Adam Kingdom and Sam Connell also scored.

Dom Gibbons (2) and Aaron Streat had Topsham's goals in their 3-1 win against Awliscombe, while Terry Martin netted in Sampford Peverell's 1-0 win at St Martins.

Ben Galloway, Ricky Lee and Rob Hanna shared the goals for Uplowman in a surprise 3-2 success at Bow.

The top two in Division Six, Dawlish United and Feniton drew 1-1, while Stoke Hill at Exwick Village 3-0.

Silverton drew 2-2 at Priory with John Ford and Richard Sobey scoring.

In Division Seven, struggling Lympstone beat second-placed Starcross Generals 5-4, while Tipton St John beat Open Space International 3-0, although one of the visitors broke his leg.

Otterton came from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Met Office, whose Dave Bennett was their scorer, while Ottery St Mary nabbed a 90th-minute winner to beat Tedburn 2-1.

In Division Eight, Alphington's 3-2 win at Winkleigh to go three points clear of Newtown, who lost 2-1 at Sidbury. George Otton was Sidbury's scorer.

George White and Reece Burnett each netted twice for Bickleigh as they won 5-2 at Sandford. Lewis Manaton also scored.

Colaton Raleigh made up for Saturday's County cup defeat by reaching the semi-finals of the Bill Slee Cup with a 2-0 victory at Lympstone. Mark Pavey and Mark Tett scored their goals.

Halwill won the other quarter-final 4-1 against Dawlish United, meaning they will now host Colaton on Sunday, March 23.

Budleigh Salterton are through to the second round of the Seaton Challenge Cup after Beer were unable to raise a side.
