FIRE crews rescued three cows that became stuck in a slurry pit on a Mid Devon farm last week.

Firefighters went to the farm, near the village of East Worlington, midway between Tiverton and Chulmleigh, just after 7pm on Friday.

They managed to lift the cows to safety using specialist equipment.
