Fire crews rescued a person from a building on fire in Clifton Street, Newtown this afternoon.

The Fire Service were called to reports of a building on fire with believed persons still inside the building at 16:21.

Two appliances from Danes Castle were mobilsied to the incident and confirmed  the building to be heavily smoke logged.

Upon arrival fire crews led one person to safety and in the hands of the ambulance crews on scene.
