Dad takes donor petition to City match
AN Exmouth father is bringing his campaign to get more people to sign up to become organ donors to the Red Square at Exeter City FC this weekend.
From noon until kick-off at the Grecians' match against Southend United on Saturday, January 12, Steve Gazzard and friends will be hosting the sign-up event.
Mr Gazzard is appealing to anyone who can lend him a laptop for the event to contact him so people can sign the e-petition to get the law on organ donation changed to opt-out rather than opt-in.
All are also welcome to a fund-raising event with entertainment, at Franklins Café, Bar and Restaurant in Exmouth on Tuesday, January 15.

The Echo followed the brave fight of Mr Gazzard's daughter Sarah Wright, a mother-of-three and avid City supporter, who recently died aged 36 while waiting for a double lung transplant for a chronic lung condition.
In her death, she gave life to three other people – her kidneys and liver were donated to others who would have died without them.
Currently the donor system requires people to opt-in. Mr Gazzard is adamant that if the Government changed the scheme to an opt-out system more lives could be saved.
"We're hoping for a good response on Saturday," he said. "Sarah was a loyal City supporter so hopefully that will rub off. At the moment there are around 1,700 signatures on the e-petition – we need 100,000 by September."
