Date set for Exeter Pride parade 2013

A date has been set for the biggest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parade in the region.

Exeter Pride 2013 will take place on Saturday, March 23 with the parade starting at 1pm from the St Sidwell Centre and heading down Exeter High Street to Exeter Phoenix.

Exeter pride confirmed the date on Twitter, posting:

‘Devon County Council and the Police have approved our Parade :) Big thanks to them! 1pm from St Sidwell's Centre on 23/03!’

Last year the Deputy Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Kevin Mitchell, accompanied by his consort, his civil partner Ian Rutland, started the parade. The parade was led by a fire engine provided by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service with firefighters, police and students all taking part.
