Job seekers in Dawlish are to get a helping hand in how to complete application forms next week.

The special event on Wednesday 22 February from 10am until 12noon is part of Dawlish Library’s ‘work club’ – an innovative project by Devon County Council to help support unemployed local people back into work and support those looking for their first job.

A Learning Support Coordinator and members of the Dawlish Water Rotary Club will be available to offer guidance and training on applying for jobs including filling in forms and advice on CV writing and interview techniques.

The regular two hour ‘work club’ sessions take place every Wednesday from 10am until 12 noon, and are run in partnership with Dawlish Rotary Club, Next Steps training and Job Centre Plus.

They offer job seekers the opportunity to get help with improving employment opportunities through training, volunteering, and reconsidering career goals, as well as advice on the financial implications of being unemployed. It also gives people the chance to meet others looking for work, build new contacts and share experiences. Sessions include advice on CV writing, interview techniques, volunteering opportunities and assistance with online application forms, as well as providing computer access in order to search for vacancies and basic IT skills.

For more information please contact Dawlish Library on 01626 862529.
