BOSS Jeff Evans says it will not be difficult for Dawlish Town to improve on their last outing when they play Calne Town tonight.

The Seasiders produced their worst performance of the year as they crashed to a 4-0 defeat at champions Bitton on Saturday, according to Evans.

So the Sandy Lane chief will be expecting a marked improvement this evening.

Evans said: "It's very rare that all 11 players play badly together, but when they do you cannot expect to win. It was the poorest performance of the year.

"The only good thing is that we have got a chance to put it right within three days of us playing and that might be to our advantage. But if we play another bad game we are going to have a rough run until the end of the season."

Paul Kendall will miss the game because he is due to have a hernia operation.

The defender has told Evans he hopes to return to action in three weeks, but the manager says he would prefer the former Plymouth Argyle trainee to miss the remainder of the season so that he is refreshed and fully fit for the start of pre-season training.

Shaun Adderley will also miss the trip to Calne, as he is yet to recover from the leg injury sustained in Dawlish's win over Longwell Green Sports earlier this month.

Evans said: "I cannot ring the changes because I have a squad of 16 or 18 which has got to take me through to the end of the season."

Dawlish sit in 13th place going into the game, while Calne are struggling badly in 19th.
