Devon man jailed in campaign to cut street violence
Judge Graham Cottle announced he was continuing his tough stance against drunken street violence when he jailed a Teignbridge man for breaking another man's ankle in an unprovoked attack.
Ian Mitchell, 25, of Newlands, Dawlish, was jailed for nine months for the incident outside Enigma nightclub in Newton Abbot, at Exeter Crown Court on Friday.
The Echo has previously reported how Judge Cottle has jailed others for street violence and given out strong warnings that those who commit it will face prison.

“Has anyone checked the credentials of this judge. He seems to be way out of line with the rest of the judiciary. Making our streets safe for old ladies to go out at night, whatever next - if we are not careful someone might even be convicted for rape!”
