Driver crashes through wall of Exeter law firm
AN elderly driver who "got his foot caught up in his pedals" sent his car smashing through the wall of a law firm in Exeter.
The 77-year-old driver was shaken but unhurt after he accelerated into the St James' solicitors offices next to Exeter City's football ground.
Office staff had left for the day when the black car ploughed into the building at 7pm last night.
Partner in the legal firm Jeremy Wickham said: "The car ended up half way in to our office.
"Behind the wall where it smashed in to was a desk used by one of our lawyers and also a large photocopier which has been wrecked.
"It was very lucky that the office was closed when the accident happened. The driver was a 77 year old man whose foot apparently slipped on the pedals."
