Driver taken to hospital after car collides with wall

A man was taken to hospital this morning after his car collided with a wall on Dartmoor.

The incident occurred on the B3357 in Dartmeet at around 7.15am.

Upon arrival, fire crews from Princetown and Ashburton, found a Volkswagen Golf had collided with a wall at the Dartmeet Bridge junction.

The male driver was still in the vehicle, but not physically trapped, when emergency services arrived.

Firefighters assisted paramedics in removing him from the vehicle.

He was taken to Torbay Hospital suffering a suspected fractured pelvis and head injury.

Crews made the vehicle safe using small tools. Police also attended the incident.
