East Devon businesses join forces to clean up beach - and you can help
Tourism businesses in East Devon are joining forces with Sustainable Ottery and Keep Britain Tidy to clean up a popular beach.
To help kick off Climate Week, around a dozen tourism professionals under the banner East Devon Excellence decided to get in touch with Keep Britain Tidy, and offer their spare time on Saturday, March 2, to help tidy up a significant stretch of Jacob’s Ladder Beach at Sidmouth.

Anyone interested can just turn up at the top of the ramp leading to Jacob’s Ladder beach, where volunteers will be ready to welcome them and provide instructions as well as materials needed to pick up and collect litter.
Facilitating the initiative is Neil Hembrow, of Keep Britain Tidy, who said: “The beachcare project runs cleans like these across many South West beaches. A beach clean is a great way of getting outside, meeting people and doing your bit for your local environment. It’s good fun and really rewarding.”
