East Devon man charged with raping underage girls in the 1960s, Exeter court hears
AN East Devon man has appeared in court charged with three counts of raping underage girls 50 years ago.
Tony Scott, 73, of Manstone Avenue, Sidmouth, appeared before Exeter magistrates today (January 3). He was not required to enter a plea to allegations that he raped a girl under the aged of 16 at a location in Devon between New Year's Eve 1961 and January 1 1963 and raping the same girl on another occasion between the same dates.

The third allegation relates to another girl, also under the age of 16, at a location in Devon between the same dates.
He was released from the court on unconditional bail and was committed to appear at Exeter Crown Court on January 18.
