Eclectic line-up mixes international and homegrown music makers
This year's family-friendly Chagstock Festival, held at Whiddon Down on the northern edge of Dartmoor, is the most ambitious and eclectic to date, with a great mix of international and local acts on the line-up.
Local folk hero and newlywed Seth Lakeman, will warm up the main stage for Saturday night headliners Fun Lovin' Criminals, while festival veterans Alabama 3 do the honours on the acoustic second stage. And KT Tunstall (see above) is booked to round off Friday night's acoustic marquee revelries.
Other key players on the bill are hotly-tipped Spanish singer songwriter Juan Zelada, who toured with Amy Winehouse and Duran Duran and had a Radio 2 Record of the Week with Breakfast in Spitalfields; Newquay-based singer songwriter Ruarri Joseph, who has a new album poised for release; alt-folk troubadours The Travelling Band; acoustic blues man Martin Harley and his band; Jools Holland favourite Big Boy Bloater, Kate McGill and Ellen and the Escapades. Westcountry favourites include Mad Dog Mcrea, Cosmo Jarvis and These Reigning Days. This year's fancy dress theme will be Kings, Queens and Knights of the Round Table.
