TARKA RUN: Emma Healey
Emma, 42, from Sandford near Crediton, ran Exeter's Great West Run last year. She now aims to tackle the Bideford half marathon, which follows the Tarka Trail in North Devon, on Sunday.
The St John Ambulance course gives local carers help and advice on everything from legal issues and first aid, to activities such as digital photography, flower arranging and jewellery making.
The carers support programme starts on Thursday April 15. It is open to all voluntary carers over 18.
