Exeter Chiefs have been forced into further changes for their LV= Cup match with Northampton Saints due to their young stars' international commitments.

Henry Slade, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Joel Conlon, Sam Hill and Jack Arnott were all involved with the England Under-20 in their opening Six Nations clash with Scotland at Brickfields last night.

Their absence means others are brought into the side, with Jack Yeandle, Alex Brown, James Hanks and Aly Muldowney handed starts in the pack, while behind them Ignacio Mieres, Ian Whitten and Mark Foster are also included from the outset.

Wing Watisoni Votu will also get another opportunity after impressing in last week's Cup defeat at Bath.

Coach Ricky Pellow said: "For Votu, it has been a long process. We had been looking to get him here and into the club for a long time. For him to come in and perform as he did was outstanding.

"The buzz around the club with the young and the senior players has been exciting. It is another opportunity to put themselves in front of a home Exeter crowd.

"A lot of players put their hands up for selection last week and hopefully this weekend will push them on as well."

The Chiefs have failed to win any of their last six games in all competitions, but Pellow said: "Those small margins have been the story of our season.

"If you look at how close the results are right through the Premiership and all the competitions we have been involved in, we have been there or thereabouts."

Exeter Chiefs: Nowell; Votu, Whitten, Tatupu, Foster; Mieres, Chudley; Rimmer, Yeandle, Brown; Welch, Hanks; Muldowney, White, Horstmann (capt). Replacements: T Cowan-Dickie, Budgen, Fairbrother, Carrick-Smith, Simmonds, Thomas, Dorrian, Sestaret.
