Former Exeter City manager appointed caretaker boss of Reading
Former Exeter City manager and player Eamonn Dolan has been appointed caretaker manager of Premier League side Reading following the sacking of Brian McDermott on Monday.
McDermott left the Berkshire club following their 2-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa on Saturday - a result that left them second from bottom in the table and four points adrift of safety.
Dolan joined Exeter in 1991, and this marked the beginning of a thirteen-year association with the club. He only managed 26 league appearances for the club as his career was cut short when he developed cancer.
However, he survived the condition, and continued to serve the Grecians as Football in the community officer, youth coach, caretaker manager, and finally full-time manager, taking over after the club's relegation from the Football League in 2003.
