Exeter City v Accrington Stanley - score prediction competition
THE Express & Echo have again teamed up with Exeter City to offer fans a chance to win a signed Grecians shirt as well as a pair of Big Bank tickets to Exeter City's home game against Northampton Town on Saturday, March 2.
All you have to do is predict the correct score from Friday night's match against Accrington Stanley and, if you guess correctly, you'll be entered into a draw to win two Big Bank tickets to the game against Northampton Town.
Every fan that guesses a correct score from now until the end of the season will also be entered into a draw to win the signed shirt at the end of the campaign.
Game info: Despite Exeter City having suffered at home of late, with just one win form their last eight games at the Park, you'd be foolish to bet against them on Friday night. That is because Accrington Stanley's recent form has been shocking. They have won just one of their last 15 games in all competitions and were beaten 3-0 away at Port Vale in their last away game.
However, odds on an Exeter City victory aren't good.
BetButler beat William Hill with a price of 8/11, but considering that offers less than even on your money you would be better to go for a half-time and full-time result.
Exeter City put in an excellent second half showing against Morecambe on Saturday and if you see them repeating that on Saturday you could back Exeter to be drawing at half-time and winning at full-time. Bet Butler have that priced at 7/2, which is better than Ladbrokes price of 10/3. You can also get a price of 17/10, with Bet Bulter, for an Exeter City half-time/full-time results if you think the Grecians will make a strong start at the Park. You can place your bets with Bet Butler at https://exetercity.betbutler.co.uk/#home where every bet helps Exeter City FC.
Verdict: Normally with Exeter City's poor home form I would shy away from predicting a victory for the Grecians at St James's Park, especially as they are likely to still be without Alan Gow, Matt Oakley and John O'Flynn for the game. I also expect Accrington to come and get men behind the ball and make things difficult for City. Having said that I still expect them to have too much going forward for a poor Stanley team.
Prediction: Exeter City 2 Accrington Stanley 0.
