Exeter EDF team head off on Arctic challenge
Exeter adventurer Chris Bushell and nine other EDF staff members are heading off to somewhere even colder than Devon this week.
Chris and his team are away on a seven day survival challenge, living and coping with the extreme weather conditions inside the Arctic Circle.
Said Chris “We will be spending the first couple of days in a log cabin to acclimatise and learn survival techniques like how to built shelter and melt ice for snow and hunt for food, before heading out and living it for real in temperatures up to -25C degrees.
“I have always been keen on undertaking challenges and testing myself in certain conditions, but until now I’ve never put myself forward for anything like this.

Said Chris: “We’ve a target of £2,500, and I’ve done things like a pub quiz with a band, a charity raffle, a cake sale and also completed the Devon coast-to-coast cycle last month, cycling from Ilfacombe to Plymouth – 140 miles in total over two days with a friend.”
