Exeter Met Office concerns over weather forecast interference
Weather forecasts could be disrupted by plans for a large Devon housing estate, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has warned.
Forecasters fear crucial temperature, humidity and wind speed data, could be blocked by proposals to surround the Exeter-based Met Office with on three sides with 750 homes.

The Met Office has warned that the data was “fundamental” to its ability to accurately predict weather patterns.
A spokesman said the proximity to receivers was a “concern” and threatens “operational forecasting capabilities”.

MoD officials, who represent the Met Office on planning issues, have demanded specific conditions be imposed on residents ahead of a meeting at Exeter City Council on Monday.
