Iko are known for the distinctive vocals and lyricism of front man Kieran Marc Scragg and cultured playing of keys-man Neil Reed. The band has gained an international audience, in part for their synch placements on various American TV and film projects.

The band wrote the song specifically for the movie and were inspired by the imagery in the book, vocalist Kieran told ThisIsExeter:

"We thought we knew the kind of thing that might work on the movie - piano and voice stripped back kind of thing. It was a massive long-shot with loads of people wanting that placement. We were fortunate the producer liked it. Lots of people told us we had more chance of landing on the moon than making the soundtrack. It's quietly satisfying to know that we made it."

The front man went on to add that he has been a fan of the franchise since the first movie:

"The books are really engrossing, and when I saw the movie I was really blown away by how good it was. It was like they managed to distill a kind of teenage angst perfectly. But they made it relevant and modern. I've since become a big fan myself so it's just a bonus to be part of them."

In the final chapter of the "Twilight Saga," based on the record breaking series of novels by Staphanie Myer, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), work to defend the couple's child, Renesmee, after a misunderstanding threatens their family.

The film looks set to break box office records and has already grossed $1.17 million through American presales despite still being over a month away from release.

Iko are not the first Devon band to be featured on a Twilight soundtrack with the originally Teignmouth based Rock band Muse also writing a song for the Twilight film Eclipse. The author of the Teen fiction series has cited the band as a major influence on her work.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" soundtrack album will be released on November 13, with the movie arriving in theaters three days later on the 16th.

Iko are currently taking pre-orders for their soon-to-be released EP, 'Dazed and Confused' available at www.ikomusic.com
